Is buying a used Ford Endeavour in 2025 actually worth it?

Is Buying a Used Ford Endeavour in 2025 Still a Smart Decision?

By AutoDesk India • Updated for 2025
The Ford Endeavour has always enjoyed a cult-like following in India. Even years after Ford’s exit from the Indian market, the Endeavour continues to attract buyers who value road presence, comfort, and strong diesel engines over flashy features.

In 2025, the big question remains: does it still make sense to buy a used Endeavour, especially when newer SUVs like the XUV700 and Scorpio-N dominate the market?

For buyers with a budget between ₹15–21 lakh, the Endeavour offers something rare — a true ladder-frame SUV with premium ride quality and long-distance comfort. Variants equipped with the 3.2L five-cylinder engine are especially sought after due to their smooth power delivery and reliability.

However, ownership isn’t without caveats. Maintenance costs can be higher than mass-market SUVs, spare parts availability depends heavily on location, and buyers must be cautious about rust, accident history, and odometer tampering.

If you live outside regions with strict diesel-age regulations and are willing to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before purchase, a well-maintained Endeavour can still be a rewarding and emotionally satisfying buy in 2025.

Worth picking up a used Ford Endeavour in 2025?

Posted by u/PetrolInVeins • Budget: ₹15–21L
I’m considering a pre-owned Ford Endeavour from the 2016–2019 period. My family was planning to wait for the XUV700 facelift, but as an enthusiast, the Endeavour keeps pulling me back.

I don’t want to overspend, but if the car is clean and mechanically sound, I’m willing to stretch a bit. Would appreciate opinions from owners and experienced buyers.

At 16–18L, the Endeavour offers way more substance than most new cars today. Just double-check local diesel rules before committing.

I’m in Mumbai, so thankfully the 10-year diesel restriction isn’t an issue here.

If you come across the 3.2L variant in good condition, don’t hesitate. That engine alone makes the Endeavour special.

Since you’re buying in a coastal city, please inspect the underbody carefully. Surface rust is common if the car wasn’t protected properly.
